SPEAKERS

Dr.Edward Edezhath is a teacher and writer who has authored several books and articles on various topics such as literature, culture, and religion. He is also a retired professor and a pioneer of the Jesus Youth movement. He has also been conferred with the title ‘Chevalier’ by the Holy See through the Diocese of Cochin. and a vibrant Catholic who spends an incredible amount of time with the youth doing what he does best – guiding, motivating and challenging youngsters. He is very pragmatic and offers a balanced and sensible view on all aspects especially matters of the Catholic faith.

An Engineer by profession, is a full-time Missionary, actively involved in Catholic lay apostolate for 35 years. The first National and International Co-ordinator of the Jesus Youth Movement, he has travelled extensively across 60 countries conducting more than 1200 training programmes for leaders and received the Leadership Award by Caritas in Veritate (CiV) USA in October 2022. He is currently the International Director of Formation, Jesus Youth, and the Executive Secretary of the Office of Evangelization for the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conference. He lives in Cochin, India, with his wife and two sons.

Jeff is the President of Catholic Christian Outreach (www.cco.ca) – a university student movement based in Canada that also provides resources and formation in evangelization and leadership throughout the world. His involvement with CCO stretches more than 25 years, beginning as student leader studying Kinesiology and Theology at the University of Saskatchewan (CCO’s founding campus), and currently as CCO’s President.

Jeff has been involved in the leadership of numerous national and international events and conferences for young people. Jeff has served on a number of boards and international committees relating to leadership, youth and faith and was a member of the Cabinet of Canadians as a part of the Faith In Canada 150 initiative. He served as a consultant and Board Chair of the Virtuous Leadership Institute. He is on the leadership team for the Lumen Gentium Forum. He is a member of the International Council for Global 2033. Jeff also writes on virtue and leadership at www.jefflockert.com.

Jeff has been married to Renée for more than 20 years and they have six children. He is an avid downhill skier, and enjoys woodworking and symphony date nights with his wife. They live in Ottawa, Canada’s national capital.

Angèle Regnier is co-founder, with her husband André of Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO)—a Canadian university student movement dedicated to evangelization. They received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal from Pope Francis in 2015. A natural teacher, Angèle pioneered CCO’s programs for evangelization and discipleship. In 2018 she spearheaded and was the media spokesperson for a national pilgrimage of the relic forearm of St. Francis Xavier. She is an authentic, passionate speaker and author. Brick by Brick was written together with her husband, five children and three inlaws, who all presented at Pope Paul VI Hall, Vatican City in 2019.

Sindhu Subhadra Nadarajan (USA) is a medical graduate and married to Sunil Kumar Nadarajan, a software engineer. Both of them are now full-time missionaries for the Jesus Youth Movement. Sunil is the Director of Amoris Christi Institute, an affiliate of JY. Sindhu is an animator for the Jesus Youth National Council in the US, and mission coordinator in the USA, and a member of the Jesus Youth International Mission team.

They are also involved with the School of Nazareth, a four-year residential accompaniment program for college students under Amoris Christi in Delray Beach, Florida. Sindhu and Sunil have five kids.

Hector Lewis is a dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioner based in Texas, USA, Jesus Youth since 1994. He is married to Rani Hector, and together they are blessed with three children. Beyond his healthcare profession, Hector has a deep passion for music and spirituality.

As a member of the renowned Rexband, Hector has made significant contributions to Christian music. He is both a music producer and lyricist, having worked on numerous Christian albums in Kerala. His creative talents and commitment to his faith are evident in the soulful music he helps create, which has touched the hearts of many.

Chris Bray is a full-time Catholic speaker & musician. Having received multiple Gospel Music Association Covenant awards and numerous #1 hit songs on Christian radio in Canada, his ministry has spanned North America from headlining the National March for Life rally on Parliament Hill for 25,000 people, the Air Canada Centre, working with great figures such as Matt Maher, Matt Fradd, Jackie Francois, Leah Darrow, Emily Wilson, Paul J. Kim, Steve Ray, Ralph Martin, Chris Padgett, Fr. Dave Pivonka, Sr. Miriam James, Teresa Tomeo, involvement in Life Teen, World Youth Day, Steubenville Toronto, National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC), featured on EWTN, Salt & Light TV, 100 Huntley St., Shalom World TV, presenting to tens of thousands each year at hundreds of conferences, retreats, schools, and churches. Chris is a husband to Katie, and a proud father of their five daughters.

Dr. Midhun Paul, hailing from India, joined the Jesus Youth movement in 2003 and has remained actively engaged ever since. Presently, he serves as the International Coordinator of Jesus Youth, having previously been involved with the Jesus Youth International Mission Team and the National Council of India. Additionally, he held the role of Coordinator for Jesus Youth Kerala. Before taking on a full-time commitment as Jesus Youth International Coordinator, Dr. Paul worked as an Assistant Professor at an Engineering College in India. He resides happily with his wife, Bitty, and their children, Jessica and Jerome.

Joel Regnier, Campus Team Leader at Concordia for Catholic Christian Outreach, brings seven years of dynamic mission work to campuses. As the eldest son of CCO’s founders, Andre and Angele, Joel began his CCO journey in the womb. Eventually, he became a missionary with CCO, serving at Carleton University and then as National Campus Recruiter. Based in Montreal, Joel now leads the charge at Concordia University. A storyteller at heart, Joel has shared his wisdom, giving retreats nationwide and embarking on missions to Uganda, Poland, Mexico, and Australia. In 2019, he had the honour of speaking on a panel at the Vatican on the New Evangelization. Co-author of “Brick by Brick,” Joel is also a culinary enthusiast, sharing his love for good food on Instagram (@chefregnier). His wife is a huge fan of his cooking – their two daughters, however, are hit or miss.

George Devassy is an International Youth Speaker and Trainer who has travelled to more than 50 countries conducting training programs in the areas of leadership, mission and formation. Business Owner of a Multi national travel firm, MBA from ABAC University and CPMS from Switzerland. Active Jesus Youth and served as Jesus Youth International Coordinator, Continental Coordinator, National Coordinator, Campus Coordinator, and President of COYA (Catholic Youth Organizations in Asia). State-level basketball player

 

Annsbert Lewis is a musician from Houston, Texas. He has produced two albums and continues to write music in his free time. He is also a filmmaker and advertising strategist with over 5 years of agency experience.

Chris has been active in evangelization for over 40 years. He is a regular contributor for the national television ministry, Food For Life. He has an MA Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. After a long career in high-tech leadership he joined CCO as their VP of Programming in 2016. His ministry focus outside of work is activating young men to support each other in living an evangelistic lifestyle empowered by the Holy Spirit. He is a proud father of his two married children and a proud Poppy of nine grandkids.

BISHOPS

Jose Kalluvelil was born on November 15, 1955 at Thottuva, Kuravilangad, in the Eparchy of Pala, India as the youngest son of Joseph and Annamma. He has four brothers. At the age of four, the family moved to Jellipara, in the Eparchy of Palghat, India. After completing High School studies, he joined St. Mary’s Minor Seminary, Thrissur. Major Seminary formation was at St. Thomas
Apostolic Seminary, Kottayam, India where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Theology. He was ordained priest on December 18, 1984 by His Excellency Mar Joseph Irimpen, the first Bishop of Palghat.


Fr. Jose began his priestly ministry on January 15, 1985 at Fathima Matha Church as Asst. Parish Priest and Director of St. Joseph’s Boys Home at Agali. In 1989 he was appointed Director
of Catechetical Department in the Eparchy of Palghat where he served for 12 consecutive years. During this period he was also the Parish Priest at 3 other parishes: Panthalampadam, Olavakod
and Ottapalam. In addition, he served the Eparchy as Diocesan Consultor, Founder Director of Kerala Catholic Students League, Director of Holy Childhood and Bible Apostolate. In 2001, Fr. Jose was sent to Rome for higher studies. He completed his licentiate in “Theology of
Human Mobility” from Pontifical Urban University and Doctorate in “Family Catechesis” from Pontifical Salesian University, Rome. Back from Rome he served as Parish Priest of St. Antony’s
Church Kottayi, and Fathima Matha Church Kallekad for one year. In 2007 Fr. Jose Kalluvelil was appointed Vicar of St. Raphael’s Cathedral Palghat, Manager of St. Raphael’s Higher Secondary
School and Diocesan Consultor. After five years, in 2012, he was transferred to St. Thomas Forane Church Kanjirapuzha where he worked for one year. In 2013 he was sent to Canada for the pastoral care of St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Community, Toronto.


On August 06, 2015 Fr. Jose Kalluvelil was appointed Exarch of the newly erected
Apostolic Exarchate for the Syro-Malabar Catholics in Canada and Titular Bishop of Tabalta by his Holiness Pope Francis. He was ordained Bishop on September 19, 2015. After 3 years, on
December 22nd 2018 the exarchate has been elevated into the status of an Eparchy. The inauguration of the Eparchy and the installation of Bishop Jose Kalluvellil were solemnized on
May 25th 2019 by His Beatitude Mar George Cardinal Alencherry, the Major Archbishop of the
Syro-Malabar Church.

The Most Reverend Douglas Crosby, OMI, Ninth Bishop of the Diocese of Hamilton, was born in Marathon, Ontario, to David and Natalie Crosby, on June 28, 1949, the first of seven children.


Bishop Crosby was ordained a priest with the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in
1975, and served as Associate Pastor, Pastor, Vocation Director, and Provincial Superior of the Order. He also served as General Secretary of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB). He was ordained Bishop in 1998 and first served as Bishop of Labrador City-Schefferville.


In 2003, Bishop Crosby was appointed Bishop of St. George’s (Newfoundland and Labrador) while continuing to serve as Bishop of Labrador City-Schefferville. Following a realignment of diocesan boundaries, he was appointed first Bishop of Corner Brook and Labrador on September 9, 2007.


Bishop Crosby was appointed Bishop of Hamilton on September 24, 2010, and took
possession of the See on November 8, 2010, at a ceremony at the Cathedral of Christ the King.
Bishop Crosby has served the CCCB as Chair of the English-Sector Liturgy Commission, and represented the Conference for nine years as a member of the International Commission of English in the Liturgy (ICEL). He was also a member of the CCCB Permanent Council, serving as Co-Treasurer, Vice President, and President.


On June 1, 2022, Pope Francis appointed Bishop Crosby a member of the Dicastery for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments, led by its Prefect, Arthur Cardinal Roche.

Bishop Gerard Paul Bergie was born on January 4, 1959 in Hamilton, Ontario. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 12, 1984 for the Diocese of Hamilton. He was named Auxiliary Bishop
of Hamilton in July 2005 and ordained as a Bishop on August 24, 2005. He was named Bishop of
the Diocese of St.Catharines on September 14, 2010 and installed on November 9, 2010.


He studied at St. Jerome’s College, the University of Waterloo and St. Peter’s Seminary, London, Ontario. He received a master’s degree in Divinity from the University of Western Ontario in 1983 and a licentiate in Canon Law from the University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (the
Angelicum) in Rome in 1991.


Bishop Bergie is President of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario (ACBO) and Liaison Bishop to the Apostolate to the Deaf for the ACBO, Co-Treasurer of the Canadian Conference of
Catholic Bishops (CCCB) Executive Committee and a member of the CCCB Permanent Council. Bishop Bergie is currently a CCCB delegate on the International Committee of Migrants and Refugees, and member of the Lutheran Church-Canada Roman Catholic Theological Dialogue.
