Formation journey

THAT CHRIST may be FORMED IN US

“My little children, for whom I am again in the pain of childbirth until Christ is formed in you” – Galatians 4:19

From its very beginning, the Jesus Youth movement had nurtured a special call to accompany young people in their journey of faith. The formation plan of the Jesus Youth, drawn from its vast experiences over the years, is designed to help young people move ahead and sustain their faith in a balanced manner.

The formation plan involves five phases that offer grass-roots formation, a step-by-step progression, trained formators, and a comprehensive set of modules across relevant topics.

The Five Phases

The journey of a lifetime

The five different phases of the Jesus Youth formation process strive to offer a deepening journey in the faith. In the Contact phase, the individual receives an awareness of the movement and the possibilities of the faith journey. The person is invited to the first two formation courses, including an initial encounter and a renewal of baptism. The Companion phase ensures a gradual growth in the person’s relationship with the Lord. These next two courses lead the person to the fundamentals of the Catholic faith.

The Committed phase is when the person makes a commitment to the spirituality of the movement and the six pillars. This leads to the Missionary Discipleship courses and to the Confirmed phase as the person has become a missionary disciple in every way.

The final phase, the Covenant phase, is a special, spiritual covenant between the person and the movement in accordance with the vision of the Catholic Church.
